Soccer Referee Equipment and Uniform
Soccer Referee holds a central position in the soccer game. Without a referee, soccer cannot be imagined. Therefore referee soccer kits and uniforms are equally important as of players. Referee Soccer Uniform like any other soccer player includes soccer jerseys, shirts, shorts, socks, shoes and jacket. However the most important soccer equipment includes his whistle and lanyard to keep it around the neck.
Soccer referee uniform colors are usually kept different from the players in order to be distinguished from them in the field. The soccer referee shirts are available in different color combinations. The colors to be used depend upon the team on the field. But there are some standardized combinations which are normally employed in the referee shirts. These include combinations like yellow with blue and black with colors such as white, gold, red and blue. The designs are kept simple and uncomplicated. A pocket is normally a part of the shirt so that he can keep his wallet in it. Also one can put on the badge over rather than sewing it. The material however is kept the same as that of the other players such as 100% polyester. The comfort of the referee is always given the first priority and such materials are used in the shirts that absorb sweat so that the shirt does not get sticky.
Both long and short sleeved jerseys and shirts are available for referees. Which one should be used depends upon the weather conditions. Referee jerseys are also kept quite plain and simpler, due to which they are quite cheaper than the player jerseys.
For referee shorts, black color is used as the standard. There are three pockets included on the short, one back pocket with a Velcro closure to keep the cards and two side pockets. Again the choice of material is made very carefully so that the comfort is not affected. 100% polyester is the best choice.
Referee socks are usually manufactured with nylon/acrylic mix. The color preferred is black. Soccer referee shoes are usually made lightweight and breathable because his job includes a lot of running. Therefore it is made sure that his footwear is very comfortable.
Soccer referee gear besides his basic uniform also comprises of a whistle, lanyard and a pouch or wallet to hold the cards. While buying whistle, make sure that it is sufficiently loud so that it can be heard above the din of a crowd. To hold the plastic cards, a wallet or a pouch with a zip is preferred. Some wallets even contain a scorecard and a holder for a pen or pencil.
Although the referee apparel is not so trendy and stylish like the players uniform, but still it has its own attraction even in simplicity.
